Impulsive or Intentional
"To live an intentional life, we look to the example of Jesus who intentionally saved us." - Pastor Kai Bangcola
Today's Sunday Service was a time of assessing ourselves if we still live an intentional life as Pastor Kai Bangcola continued on our series #Choices. He shared about choosing between living on impulse or living life intentionally. Life is short to be taken for granted, shall we live an intentional life or continue to live impulsively?
How do we live the intentional life? Here are the four keys:
1. Examine your life - diligently examining ourselves and looking carefully of our walk in life. What is going on in our lives? Where are we going? Are we living our lives wisely?
2. Redeem your time - making the most of every opportunity. Are we investing on the things that really matter? Are we making most of our present?
3. Determine your purpose - understanding what the will of the Lord is. What is the will of God for us? In the season of our life right now, what is God wanting us to do?
4. Embrace your priority - being filled with the spirit. Are we in a condition of being spirit-filled all the time?
He then shared some practicals in living life intentionally:
1. Read the Word - the discipline of reading God's Word.
2. Trust the process - be willing to go through difficulty, struggle, and pain towards the greater joys of life instead of relying on immediate gratifications.
3. Look at the example of Jesus - living life intentionally by looking at the life of Jesus who intentionally saved us.
Pastor Kai Bangcola ended the service with a call to look at Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). By following His intentional life, we can also live life intentionally. So let us reassess our lives: are we living impulsively, spontaneous, and based on emotions or living intentionally, steps directed towards a goal, and nothing is wasted?
Let's live today wisely. Don't take life for granted.
