Death, Frustration, and the Hope of Resurrection

“Things are not always what they seem to be.”

On our Resurrection Sunday Service, Pastor Carlo Panlilio talks about how Jesus was a man whom everyone perceived as their saviour, their hope in achieving freedom. Yet, in one instant, people saw their hope die; suddenly, all hope was shattered.

In their logical minds, Jesus’ death did not make sense. It looked like it was the end.
Unknown to those who saw Jesus’ crucifixion, his death was not the end of the promise. His death was just the beginning of fulfilling the promise of salvation. His resurrection is the symbol of hope lost and hope gained.

Life mirrors this. Things don’t always turn out the way we expect them to be. We experience loss, heartaches, and pain that do not make sense at first. These setbacks make us lose hope in what we believe in.

Unknown to us, no matter how ‘dead’ our situations may look now, it’s not yet the end. God is working on the promise.
